Pros and cons of Casino Craps Tutorial app for iPhone and iPad
Casino Craps Tutorial app good for
Easy to learn tutorial. Youll know how to play in less than 40 min
When craps was first explained to me, I thought "youve got to be kidding" - theres every frickin possible way to bet, even betting on the misfortune of other players. Finally this app goes through it all and explains it all. Craps is just a game where you have to think quickly and carefully - not really my cup of tea. Its complicated. Id rather play blackjack.
Because even if youre a dummy this app will teach you craps. Its very detailed, goes through all the steps and types of bets, and in each phase it lets you practice i.e.besides the tutorials its very hands-on. Obviously well thought out. I then got the free craps app and Ive become addicted! Good job, thanks.
Some bad moments
The tutorial section is fairly accurate but does have a few errors. For one thing, there is no Dont Pass Bar - it is essentially a Dont Pass LINE Bar 12 - that is, Bar 12 meaning if a 12 is thrown, it is a push. Same for Dont Come Bar.
The tutorial fails to mention that it is only showing HALF the table.
Pass line odds are placed BEHIND the line, not on top of the existing pass line bet. This also makes it difficult to see exactly how much money is on the table.
The tutorial does not cover some of the more obscure bets, like a Horn bet.
In the practice sessions, the bets dont always pay out correctly. I had a $6 place bet on #8, and it should have paid out $7 - instead, it paid $10. In another case, the point (6) was made and instead of paying me my pass line bet with odds, it placed another $6 place bet right beside the ON puck in the 6 box and carried on with the game! Huh?!?
In playing the practice game, it is almost impossible to tell how much money is on the table - is it 5, 10, 15 hard to tell because the chips are stacked together. Similarly, figuring out the winnings payouts is difficult because winnings are all lumped together and added to your stake; you need to constantly watch your balance and subtract that from your new total to find out how much you won and to determine if the payouts are correct
There is no option to press winnings.
Despite having sound effects on, there is no sound.
Based on these things, I cannot recommend this app, and definitely would not spend any money on the pro version.
